I got a guy

One of my secret obsessions?

Fanatically clicking refresh whenever I'm selling something.

I don't care if it's a $20 pair of shoes on poshmark or one of my digital products.

That refresh dopamine hits better than chocolate.

Especially on that last day as everyone waits to click buy.

Last week my husband decided to auction off an antique car he no longer drives (and by antique, I mean circa 2001).

I was anxious that it was a bad time to sell (I mean, who's buying old imports in this economy?)

Turns out I know nothing about the niche car market. There were multiple dudes battling it out over this obscure listing.

(Meanwhile I'm just happy to get the garage spot back for my gardening tools.)

What I found most fascinating? When the listing agent (our mechanic friend who's known as "the car whisperer") posted that he wanted to continue maintaining the car for the buyer, the bids started popping off.

Everybody wants to be connected to "in the know" people who get things done.

I've been thinking about this a lot after a call my friend Michelle Warner hosted for a cohort of service providers and experts navigating this tumultuous timeline.

My main takeaways from our convo:

👉 how can you make yourself (and your work) critically essential (and non-negotiable when people are cutting way back)?

👉 how can you build (and draw upon) your network to shore up your business?

Michelle's whipped up a new short form workshop series to get you through this latest economic entanglement called Navigating the Unknown.

Each week she'll focus on a different topic related to navigating rapidly changing and volatile business climates. You know, like the one we're dealing with right now. My readers can save $50 with code SAVE50.

you've got this,
Michelle

The little green owl lied to me.Turns out my 60 day mini Duolingo streak didn't exactly revive my command of the French language during my last hurrah trip to Paris this week. The last time I really spoke (passably bad) French was during my semester abroad in Luxembourg.Sounds fun, but my host family padlocked the fridge and relegated me to the sketchy bathroom in their dank basement. Let's just say I don't have the fondest memories. This trip my friend and I vowed to use our French as much as...

Probably my favorite thing ever is hanging with my friends dreaming up ideas for each other's businesses. And now that it's officially spring (or peak pollen season as it's known in Richmond), long backyard sits and productive porch visits are back on the docket. Turns out when you're an entrepreneur, you tend to hang out with other entrepreneurs. We just can't help ourselves from nerding out on how to refine systems, convert more buyers and generate more revenue. And a recent backyard...

I never thought I'd be obsessed with guinea pigs, but well, here we are. In an effort to cheer up my nightly doomscrolling my husband sent me this reel and I'm officially hooked. Who knew it would be this brain soothing to watch animals nibble veggies for hours on end? Franky, I think the term guinea pig gets a bad rap - and I'm looking for a few to help me out. This week I've been speaking to groups all about getting more (quality) leads from repeatable activities - like connecting ManyChat...
