lighten your load

Dude. It's a lot right now.

I've had more than a few voice messages in my DMs this week about just how burned out people are.

I know my general outlook can vary based on what time of day I've read Heather Cox Richardson's latest missive.

So finding tools that bring ease into my life is paramount as I'm starting several intense client projects that require hours of daily meetings.

I'm not looking to make my work life any harder than it needs to be.

Last year a designer friend recommended using Granola* to simplify taking meeting notes.

This discrete app transcribes your meetings, captures your notes and summarizes info from your video calls. And since it doesn't add itself to the call, you won't get an annoying fireflies or fathom bot message that can peeve people.

Is it just me, or are those bots super annoying on group calls (especially if it's only someone's bot and not a real person that joins the call)!

I love how Granola* creates concise post-call summaries that I can easily cut and paste to share with clients. And granola "recipes" (basically AI prompts) allow you to do more with your content - like write to-do lists and follow-up emails.

Bonus hack I discovered while sitting at my desk and brainstorming with my husband: start recording a new note while ideating at your desk or on your phone. Great way to capture moments of genius you don't want to forget!

Grab the Business plan* to access info for longer than 30 days or kick the tires with the free plan.

you've got this,
Michelle

p.s. B-School 2026 is just around the corner. Since I give 1:1 attention to my B-Schoolers, I'm only able to take on a few folks this year. If you want to work directly with me, click here and I'll add you to my personal waitlist.

p.p.s. he'll probably hate this note, but I'm sending my friend and yoga philosophy teacher Hari-Kirtana Das good wishes for a very special birthday. Plus he writes a heck of a thoughtful newsletter.

Might be my new favorite sign tacked up on telephone poles around my neighborhood.I'll draw your pet. For money.Clear, to the point and even has a QR code for easy scanning.More people could use that kind of simplicity when sharing their offers. Recently I tried to register for a local retreat and while the instagram carousel looked delightful, there was nary a link to click nor a trigger word to use to get more info. I'm someone who appreciates a ManyChat* automation to share info quick with...

One of my friends gave me an odd request while we were waiting for the knife sharpener guy at the the farmer's market (middle-aged joy=sharp knives).Could I curate her instagram feed for her? She's opted out of scrolling for the past few years citing *waves arms everywhere.* But she's missed connecting with people and wants a clean slate. This means she's back on my pebble list - now I can send her my special blend of elderly dog videos, time-lapse crocheted frogs and always on-point muppet...

I'm sitting here nursing my twisted ankle like a wounded bird.Got a little ambitious last night in my first proper House music dance class. Now I pride myself on being a pretty good dancer. I spent many a youthful night sweating it out til 6am in deep house clubs. Even met my husband thru my fav DJ.Turns out I've been doing a few basic moves wrong most of my life. But if you've never learned how to do it right, you keep doing it the same way you've always done it. In my line of work, I see the...
