there's one less vice

Officially day seven without coffee.

No one tells you that one thing you really should avoid during post-surgery recovery is the sweet nectar of caffeine.

Yadda, yadda, something about dehydration and delayed healing.

Gah, I miss it. I don't have many vices these days. It's hard breaking my well-worn habit of hitting the Nespresso button twice while simultaneously checking my inbox and shoveling 20 grams of protein milk into my giant cup of joe in an effort to appease the internet macros gods.

I may have had to give up my get-it-done juice (at least for the next few weeks), but I couldn't give up my daily email fix.

Turns out I'm not alone - 99% of email users check their inbox every day (sometimes up to 20 times)!

Which is why one of the things that stuck out the most for me in my chat last week with my friend Laura Belgray was hearing that emailing more dramatically increased her revenue. (BTW fun little YouYube hack: you can link directly to a specific timecode.)

But what if you don't know how (or what) to write in your emails?

Laura's got a fix for that.

If you've been on my list for any bit of time, you know emailing's the one thing I'll always do for my business (and I've got Laura to thank for that.)

I've been designing her site and products for years - so I've been learning by osmosis (pro-tip: design slides for smart people and some of it will stick).

Yesterday she did a live session of her info-packed free training Emails that Sell - and you can watch the limited-time replay here. Seriously, set aside an hour or so and pick up easy-to-implement tweaks to turn your stories into sales.

And if you're ready to overhaul your email strategy, I'd recommend you pick up her signature course, Inbox Hero* - on massive sale this week. You’ll learn how to write copy that converts your readers into buyers and fans for life.

Or as Laura succinctly puts it: get opened, get read, get paid.

Plus, if you enroll by Friday, you'll get you-totally-need-these extra bonuses like her welcome sequence workshop (finally know exactly what to send when your subscribers first sign up), her 100 best subject lines and Make Your Point: The Story-to-Sale Workshop (learn how to connect your stories to sales).

Did I mention it's half-off right now? This bundle of trainings is a serious steal (less than 3 months of my sadly extinct Nespresso habit). You won't have to mortgage your house to learn from Laura - and you can still get the guac.

you've got this,
Michelle

p.s. I'm a proud affiliate (and the graphic designer) for Inbox Hero. If you buy Laura's signature email course with my link this week, I'll send you Brain Bundle - my expert trainings that share my high-end design secrets and digital product creation tips. Already purchased Inbox Hero with my link? Send me an email and I'll make sure to send over your bonus.

p.p.s. it's Laura's birthday today - she'd love it if you DM her with something you've learned from her!

Did this email end up in your promo, junk or spam folder? Do me a solid and drag it to your primary inbox - this tells your inbox you like me, like really like me.

quick invite: I'm hosting a live peek inside my email strategies with Kit Nov. 26th.Grab your free spot here. Post surgery-restrictions mean I'm not much fun right now. No dancing, no reaching cookies on high shelves, and definitely no hot tubs (or "bacteria factories" as my surgeon calls them). But I'm not that sad about unfettered time to catch up with friends and watch long-form documentaries like the epic one about Billy Joel.I was catch-up voxing last week when my friend told me she was...

Probably one of the best perks of designing digital products for stellar clients like Laura Belgray? I get first dibs access to their premium content. So when said client got known for writing prolific (and sales-inducing) newsletters, I started paying close attention.A few years back, I promised myself that I would start writing a consistent newsletter (generally sent on Fridays - barring major illness, travel or a contagious case of idontwannaitis) - but only if I could have fun with...

As a designer, almost nothing feels better than slapping a fresh coat of paint on a website - especially when it's been more than a few years since you've updated the last version. So I'm pleased as punch to share the all-new updated website for longtime client, friend and fellow dog enthusiast Ann HandleyThis site was created the old-school way. Pushing pixels by hand (and getting feedback with change orders accompanied by dog pics at my request). Two elements I love to play with in my...
