this'll make them click

Probably one of the best perks of designing digital products for stellar clients like Laura Belgray? I get first dibs access to their premium content. So when said client got known for writing prolific (and sales-inducing) newsletters, I started paying close attention.

A few years back, I promised myself that I would start writing a consistent newsletter (generally sent on Fridays - barring major illness, travel or a contagious case of idontwannaitis) - but only if I could have fun with it.

Sometimes my schedule goes awry - surgery last week has me feeling like I lost a few rounds with Mike Tyson. Hence this email arriving on a Tuesday.

But right before my latest battle with insurance (nothing like your no-holds-barred surgeon telling you on the table "we're doing this and the hospital will get their money eventually,") I recorded this fun video with Laura on how to write emails that sound more like you.

Laura's story-driven methodology is a big reason why writing my newsletter turned from a "have to do this" obligation to a "want to do this" experience. Now my husband hears me mutter the phrase "this nugget would be great for my newsletter" multiple times a week.

I'm coming out of my post-anesthesia haze to share Laura's latest free live workshop, Emails That Sell: How To Write Emails That Have Your List Clicking, Buying, And Drooling At Your Every Word.*

Trust me, you'll want to show up live to this one (I helped make a lot of the slides and I know she's beyond generous with sharing the secrets behind her best-selling emails).

Inside you'll learn:

  • How to get busy, harried types pouncing to open your emails
  • The dangerously addictive writing style your readers can't quit
  • What to write when you don't know what to write (this was a key lesson for me!)
  • The single tweak that more than doubled Laura’s revenue
  • How to tell compelling stories that convert to SALES

Register here for the free live training Wednesday. October 29th.*

you've got this,
Michelle

p.s. One of the the best things you can do for your business is learn how to write better emails - especially if you're like me and allergic to social media. Emails that Sell* is a jam-packed free training that helps you inject life into your emails (so you can connect with buyers, generate more sales and have fun writing your list).

p.p.s. I'm officially on recovery for the next week and I've exhausted every episode of Columbo, Slow Horses and Only Murders in the Building. Send ideas that won't tax my brain too much.

quick invite: I'm hosting a live peek inside my email strategies with Kit Nov. 26th.Grab your free spot here. Post surgery-restrictions mean I'm not much fun right now. No dancing, no reaching cookies on high shelves, and definitely no hot tubs (or "bacteria factories" as my surgeon calls them). But I'm not that sad about unfettered time to catch up with friends and watch long-form documentaries like the epic one about Billy Joel.I was catch-up voxing last week when my friend told me she was...

Officially day seven without coffee. No one tells you that one thing you really should avoid during post-surgery recovery is the sweet nectar of caffeine. Yadda, yadda, something about dehydration and delayed healing.Gah, I miss it. I don't have many vices these days. It's hard breaking my well-worn habit of hitting the Nespresso button twice while simultaneously checking my inbox and shoveling 20 grams of protein milk into my giant cup of joe in an effort to appease the internet macros gods.I...

As a designer, almost nothing feels better than slapping a fresh coat of paint on a website - especially when it's been more than a few years since you've updated the last version. So I'm pleased as punch to share the all-new updated website for longtime client, friend and fellow dog enthusiast Ann HandleyThis site was created the old-school way. Pushing pixels by hand (and getting feedback with change orders accompanied by dog pics at my request). Two elements I love to play with in my...
